During a two-day multi-zonal media dialogue commemorating the 2025 World Immunization Week (WIW), this was announced in Enugu on Thursday by Mrs. Juliet Chiluwe, Chief of Field Office at UNICEF’s Enugu office.

This year’s campaign would be themed “Immunization for All is Humanly Possible,” and Chiluwe declared that 12 states would be the focus of a massive vaccination drive.

Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Benue, Ebonyi, Enugu, Rivers, Delta, Imo, and Kogi were among the states she mentioned.

In her remarks to the assembled journalists and medical professionals, Chiluwe expressed her joy at being present at the event and expressed her hope that the discussions that will take place will lead to better immunization services for all people, particularly the children in their care.

It is critical to stress the ongoing significance of this worldwide celebration in 2025, as we approach World Immunization Week, WIW, 2025. Everyone, from infants to the elderly, should be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases through accessible and fair immunization programs, which is the message of this year’s theme.

Joining forces with healthcare providers and governments, UNICEF is promoting the importance of vaccination services, which includes reaching the final mile, as the World Immunization Week (WIW) celebration kicks off today.

Vaccines are evidence that fewer diseases and more lives are achievable goals, according to UNICEF, which takes use of this chance to stress this point. “Immunization for All is Humanly Possible” must be demonstrated to the world at this very moment.

Journalists from each of the states that were targeted were present at the media forum, which was co-sponsored by the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State. At the hybrid event, journalists vowed to keep an eye on the vaccination drive in their home states, especially in more rural regions.
