The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hyacinth Dajoh, stated that the lawmakers are not saboteurs but rather representatives of their constituents, who wish for the executive’s success for the benefit of the state.

Dajoh made these remarks in Makurdi during the launch of a new executive/appeal fund for an administrative office for the Association of Emcees, ABE, Benue Chapter.
Recently, the legislators decided not to respond to the executive arm’s communications until their demands were addressed.
The lawmakers expressed that the executive had “flagrantly refused to comply with the Assembly’s resolutions,” which led to their refusal to screen the commissioner nominees.
However, the speaker, who was represented at the event by Mr. Douglas Akya from the Makurdi South State Constituency, emphasized that their actions are always driven by responsible representation aimed at benefiting the state.
“Any decision made by the assembly is not an act of hostility towards the governor or the executive. Our goal is to assist the governor in achieving success and creating lasting legacies.
“Everything we do and say is to support him. We are not in conflict; we are not saboteurs,” he stated. The speaker praised ABE for electing trustworthy officials to lead the association.
The event’s chairman, Mr. Cephas Dyako, who serves as the Minority Chief Whip of the Assembly, commended the association’s members for uniting under one umbrella to coordinate their efforts. Dyako assured his support for the association in reaching its objectives.
The Speaker’s wife, Mrs. Cynthia Dajoh, praised ABE members for their unity and professionalism. Dajoh committed to equipping the ABE secretariat once it is ready for use.
Chief Solomon Iorpev, the Governor’s Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity, and Strategic Communication, who was the guest speaker at the event, discussed “Building a Successful Brand as an MC. Iorpev shared several tips for becoming a successful master of ceremony and offered advice to the ABE.
