Abdullahi Maiwada, a spokesman for the NCS, made the announcement on Tuesday.
The Service has confirmed that the incident did not happen recently, but rather on February 17th, 2019.
“The NCS would like to make it clear that the incident in question happened on Sunday, 17 February 2019, and it is not a recent occurrence, contrary to what some internet platforms are saying.”
After the unfortunate incident at the Shagamu Interchange in Ogun State, the Service promptly responded according to its internal protocols, the NCS stated. There was an immediate public announcement and the formation of a disciplinary commission to look into the situation. By the end of it all, the right punishments were meted out, including firing the guilty cops.
