Nasir El-Rufai and Peter Obi, both of whom were presidential candidates for the Labour Party (LP), met. While attending the 11th Annual Cambridge Africa Together Conference (ATC) at St. John’s College, University of Cambridge, Obi and El-Rufai crossed paths in the US.

The conference unites researchers, leaders, and agents of change from around Africa, and El-Rufai is scheduled to speak at it.
Unlike Obi, who was a member of the Labour Party during the previous presidential election, El-Rufai is rumored to be politically affiliated with Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, since he recently switched from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
When they announced the establishment of an opposition alliance, the two leaders were joined by Atiku Abubakar.
With this alliance, we intend to depose President Bola Tinubu in 2023. Many assume that the coalition will use the SDP platform in light of the announcement. El-Rufai is reportedly being referred to as Atiku’s stand-in within the SDP.
