According to Tinubu, Buhari will be the sole focus of Tuesday’s meeting. A declaration that the president himself signed conveyed his summons.
While seeking treatment for an unidentified illness, Buhari passed away on Sunday at a clinic in London. In an extraordinary meeting of the FEC, Tinubu promised that Buhari will get full state honours.
In addition, he announced that a special meeting of the Federal Executive Council would be held on Tuesday in his honour.
“Full state honours befitting President Buhari’s towering contributions to our country will be accorded by the Federal Government. While Buhari was still alive, Tinubu prayed that God would forgive him for all his sins.
The federal government and the president’s family have been receiving condolences from prominent Nigerians.
