Tragically, three lives were lost in a ferocious battle that ensued after armed bandits stormed Illela-Baraya Village in Sokoto State’s Gwadabawa Local Government Area late on Friday.

Zagazola Makama was informed by intelligence sources that three locals were killed and several others injured when the assailants, who arrived in huge numbers at about 10:00 PM, fired randomly.
Quick action by the security personnel resulted in a fierce gun battle with the robbers, who were ultimately driven away without taking any cattle.
The victims were declared dead when they arrived at the hospital, despite efforts to save them. Three spent AK-47 cartridges were found at the location by the troops.
In the aftermath of the incident, the area was extensively examined and security patrols were ramped up to prevent any additional attacks.
