Stanley Ontop, a well-known Nigerian film producer, has accused gospel singer Mercy Chinwo of being behind VeryDarkMan’s detention.

In response to rumors that GTBank had detained VeryDarkMan, Stanley Ontop made the claims in an Instagram post that went viral on Sunday.
The actor labeled Nigerian churches as another government institution that employs the police, EFCC, and military to oppress the populace, while accusing Mercy Chinwo of ordering the arrest.
The arrest of VDMs at GTBANK’s premises is not GTBANK’s responsibility. It is Mercy Chinwo’s fault that VDM was apprehended.
Church is just one more government agency that resorts to threatening civilians through the power of our police, EFCC, or military. It is Mercy Chinwo, not GTBank, who is now the issue.

After visiting GTBank with his mother to protest about suspected deductions from her account, VeryDarkMan was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Friday, May 2, according to DAILY POST.
