On April 19, security personnel in Katsina State prevented the abduction of 10 individuals, all of whom were freed unscathed.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident happened at about 2135 hours local time when a band of masked men, who were believed to be bandits, blocked the Funtua-Gusau Road close to Marabar Bangori Village.
“The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Faskari Division wasted no time in sending a squad of patrol officers to the scene as soon as he received the distress call,” Makama said on X.
Police reportedly rescued the abducted hostages after engaging the criminals in a gunfight, as reported in the article. The operation also led to the recovery of two Golf vehicles that had been hijacked by the perpetrators.”
The people who were rescued were not hurt, and the police are still trying to find and catch the people who ran away.
