The operation was successful after receiving convincing intelligence about bandit plans to attack the villages of Teng and Kayarda in the Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State in the early hours of May 27, 2025, according to Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Operation Safe Haven’s Media Information Officer.
The statement states that forces engaged the bandits, neutralised three of them, and captured four AK-47 weapons, four magazines, and 56 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition. The statement goes on to say that additional bandits fled the scene of the crime.
While attempts are underway to catch fleeing members of the criminal gang and recover their illicit weapons, the statement states that the recovered exhibits are in the hands of the forces.
