Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, has urged his followers, the residents of Rivers State, and all of Nigeria to express gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for quickly stepping in to prevent the state’s impending chaos caused by the ongoing political turmoil.

Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara’s chief press secretary, released a statement on Thursday in which the president said that he, his deputy, and all elected members of the State House of Assembly were working towards re-establishing themselves through a process of reconciliation and peace.
He gave the people his word that “democracy and good governance will soon return to the state, with both arms working together for the good of the people.”
During events commemorating his two years in office, the governor of Rivers State made this comment on Thursday during a meeting with Simplified Movement leaders and stakeholders.
In his address, Fubara promised that both the executive and legislative branches will soon be able to return to their offices after the problems were rectified.

In addition, I have faith that the solid bonds we once shared will mend, and that we will get back to cooperating for the state’s benefit. Our ability to forgive one another is paramount.
Fubara argued that the political issue in Rivers State may have escalated without the president’s intervention, and he asked the people of the state to thank the president for this. To ensure the success of the reconciliation process and the state’s progress, he pleaded with the people to maintain calm.
The peace process has already begun, he declared. You should express your gratitude to the president for stepping in at the last minute to save the day and restore peace and stability to the country. The events of today would have unfolded differently had Mr. President not been present.

I have no idea where he obtains his facts, but he made the correct decisions at the right times. It is he to whom you should be grateful.
Furthermore, I’d like to express my gratitude to him on an individual level for stepping in, as well as to the many national figures who had pleaded with him to do so.
We must dismount our eminent positions and dedicate ourselves to the peace effort. Yes, we are doing just that. The key is for the government to take action. No matter how important you are, the state’s interest takes precedence.
