On Wednesday, the government of India banned Pakistani aircraft from flying over its territory. Pakistan, a nuclear-armed neighbor, had already decided a few days before to prohibit Indian aircraft from flying over its territory in the aftermath of a 26-person attack on tourists in Kashmir.

The Indian government has announced in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that the prohibition on Pakistani aircraft will be in force from April 30th to May 23rd.
Pakistan had already denied New Delhi’s request to suspend a water-sharing pact and barred Indian flights from its airspace, according to the Furucinovel.
The Indian government has already stated that its visa exemption programme for members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) will not apply to citizens of Pakistan.
