Orji Kalu: Nigerians aren’t accustomed to working hard

The Nigerian people, according to a former governor of the state, Orji Uzor Kalu, dislike having to work hard for what they have.

This was spoken by Kalu, who is the senator for the Abia North constituency in the National Assembly. Kalu was praising President Bola Tinubu’s initiatives and pointing out why Nigerians should vote for him again.

The legislator reportedly made an appearance at Tuesday’s Senate plenary wearing an outfit that announced Tinubu’s candidature for president in 2027, according to furucinovel.

Speaking to reporters following the plenary, Kalu highlighted Tinubu’s two main accomplishments: the elimination of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira.

Even if these policies have made life worse for Nigerians, he said, they were hoping things will improve in two years.

“People are still suffering down the line, yes, I agree with that,” he stated. My wish is that the policies of the president would percolate down to the people of Nigeria in the coming years, and that they will recognise and value his efforts.

I am not someone who grovels. Tinubu was the first president to combine the currency and to end the subsidy program.

That is the root of our problems; we are not accustomed to working hard as Nigerians. Cheap money is nothing new for us.
