According to furucinovel, the former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, passed away on Saturday at the age of 78. Jime expressed that he was taken aback by the news of Ogbeh’s passing, describing it as a “rude shock.”
He characterized the late former lecturer at Murtala College of Arts, Science and Technology as the epitome of a public-spirited person who served as a significant inspiration to many across the country.
“I just received with rude shock the announcement of the passing of one of Benue’s greatest ambassadors to the Nigerian nation, Chief Innocent Audu Ogbeh.
“A remarkably intelligent and visionary leader. To me, he continues to be a great inspiration that public service is truly a realm where one fulfills the responsibilities of serving the nation with excellence.
“We all grieve; this nation has lost a true patriot, and indeed, the solace, if any exists in the passing of any individual, lies in the legacies they leave behind.
“And if a man like Ogbeh has left such a remarkable legacy of exemplary public service to his nation, that is the kind of legacy we should all strive to create and be remembered for.
“So, while we mourn, we must also reflect deeply on our lives and consider whether Ogbeh and those like him are our guiding lights and guardian angels,” he remarked.
Jime, who was the 2019 Benue APC governorship candidate, also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family and all individuals of good conscience regarding Chief Ogbeh’s death.
“I would also like to extend my deepest sympathies not only to his immediate family but indeed to all men and women of good faith. Ogbeh inspired us all. This is a tragic loss of immense proportions,” he stated. The deceased was a former Minister of Communications, Steel Development, and Agriculture.
