Bala was sentenced to three months in prison with the option of a fine. Following his detention at the stadium, Bala was sentenced on Thursday by a Chief Magistrate Court in Lafia.
Nasarawa United prevailed 3-2 in a nail-biter against Plateau United, but a worrisome incident occurred just after the final whistle, leaving the Plateau United player vulnerable to the fan.
After Bala was initially implicated in the player’s stabbing, Nasarawa United strongly refuted the allegations and any connection between the supporter and their team.
“Plaintau United’s Vincent Temitope and an unaffiliated spectator got into a physical altercation, contrary to the sensationalized reports,” the club stated.
