In response to Rotimi Amaechi’s claim that the former governor of Rivers State does not respect him, Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has issued a statement.

As previously reported by furucinovel, Amaechi had questioned Wike’s lack of regard for him when he was minister of transportation.
In an effort to demonstrate his popularity, Amaechi scolded his replacement and even challenged the FCT Minister to a walk from Abuja to Port Harcourt.
Wike responded on Friday’s Channels TV show by saying that respect is earned through honesty and dignity, not by chronological age.
The respect that you deserve should be based on your honesty and moral fibre, not your age, he admonished. His assertion that he is my senior is unjust.”
