NNPP demands accountability and reform from JAMB

The NNPP has strongly condemned the JAMB for the way it administered the 2025 UTME, or Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, calling it woefully insufficient.

In a statement issued on Friday, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, the Southwest NNPP chairman, said that the present JAMB officers are unqualified for their positions.

Millions of students rely on JAMB to help them get into colleges, universities, and polytechnics, therefore Ajadi was right to protest the organization’s incompetence.

He stated that the registrar’s regrets do little to alleviate the hardships endured by the impacted, especially the families of students who tragically passed away as a result of test-related stress.

He pleaded with the federal government to investigate JAMB’s activities and punish those guilty through the Ministry of Education.

Additionally, the NNPP extended their sympathies to the victims’ families and demanded an investigation into the problems affecting the examination board. He thought that JAMB could be made easier and more efficient if the matriculation exam were decentralized.

The party chairman went on to say that delayed exams should give students enough time to study so that they don’t make the same mistakes twice.

Our country is humiliated by JAMB’s latest acknowledgment of mistakes. For families impacted by this issue, their ineptitude has brought enormous anguish. He emphasized that the government needs to move decisively in order to fix these mistakes.
