New contracts, departures, and Chelsea this summer

The names of Chelsea players who joined or left during the summer transfer window have been revealed. In addition, the Blues released a list of players whose contracts were extended.

On Sunday, the Premier League west London club announced the signings of striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and midfielder Dario Essugo from Sporting Lisbon. Essugo impressed while on loan with Las Palmas last season and joined Chelsea from Sporting Lisbon.

Additionally, Enzo Maresca’s squad announced that 18-year-old Brazilian Estevao will join the Blues following his departure from Palmeiras in the offseason of 2025/26, and that 20-year-old English winger Jamie Gittens joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund on July 5.

Chelsea also announced the signings of forward Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion and midfielder Kendry Paez, who turned 18 this summer, both of whom joined the Blues.

In addition to Mamadou Sarr (from Strasbourg to Chelsea), Mike Penders (from Genk to Chelsea) is another player who has joined the Blues.

At the same time, four players—Kian Best (through 2027), Ato Ampah (through 2028), Max Merrick (through a three-year deal), and Jimi Tauriainen (through 2022)—have inked new contracts.

Chelsea lost Mathis Amougou, Eddie Beach, Lucas Bergstrom, Marcus Bettinelli, Luke Campbell, Bashir Humphreys, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Zak Sturge, Marcell Washington, Dylan Williams, and Teddy Sharman-Lowe to loan or permanent transfers this summer.
