In a recent interview on WithChude, Hermes disclosed that his mother departed from the family following a downturn in his father’s financial circumstances.

He mentioned that, despite the hardships, his father’s love and support were instrumental in helping him cope with the challenges of his early years.

The reality TV personality shared that his father, who previously worked for UNICEF, faced difficulties in providing for the family after losing his job, which led them to relocate to an unfinished building. He noted that his mother was absent from their lives for seven years after this unfortunate event.

“When things got tough, we moved into an uncompleted building. My mum didn’t want to come with us, so she left that night and didn’t return for seven years,” he recounted. Hermes also expressed that he has decided not to hold any bitterness towards her.

Nonetheless, he credits his father’s steadfast love and commitment to raising him and his siblings as the reason he continues to feel affection for his mother.

“My dad raised us with love, and that’s why I still have love for my mum today. Their marriage wasn’t happy, and maybe she just did what she had to do,” Hermes clarified.”
