The All Progressives Congress won Saturday’s municipal elections in Lagos State, but the state’s opposition parties are protesting the outcome. All 57 chairmanships and 375 out of 376 councillorships were won by the APC, according to the furucinovel.

On Sunday, the results were declared at the commission’s headquarters in Sabo Yaba, Lagos, by Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (retd.), who chairs the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission.
Ward D of the Yaba LCDA was the site of a shocking upset as Babatunde Dosunmu, running for the Peoples Democratic Party, beat out the APC candidate. A previous member of the APC, Dosunmu switched allegiances to the PDP just before the election.
Tai Benedict, the PDP’s state Deputy Chairman, expressed his approval of the outcome and expressed his displeasure with the outcome in an interview he gave to The furucinovel on Sunday.
Benedict stated that the APC’s “aggressive campaigns” had some significance, stating that the APC could not have garnered such a large amount of votes.
The outcome did not disappoint him, he stated. In the least, I am not let down. In the election, we will praise all of our candidates who have stood firm and brought honour to our party. Hopefully, the public will now be able to distinguish between the PDP and the LP. One thing at a time.
“The LP members felt they had greater support than the PDP in the previous election. I will not be let down. We are all aware of the implications of the APC’s extremely aggressive campaign, I’m sure of it.
With the sort of votes they have, is it even conceivable to have this election—and all the chairmanship elections in all the 20 LGAs and 30 LCDAs—at this point? I kept telling certain people that. Is it even possible right now? This is obviously not going to happen.
“We had some people playing football around, yet, look at the figures that they are bringing out,” Benedict stated, in reference to the voter indifference that tainted the ballot.
See how many thousands of people were involved in chairperson calculations compared to the previous election by collecting all of the data from the city. I can guarantee you that. Thus, the system is flawed.
According to Sam Okpala, the Lagos state secretary of the Labour Party, “no election” took place on Saturday. The absence of an election, according to Okpala’s assessment, was the main event, he stated publicly.
A hoax, a rape of democracy, and a waste of taxpayers’ billions of naira—that is what we witnessed in Lagos yesterday (Saturday).
“How is it possible to hold an election when LASIEC officials failed to show up at nearly half of the polling units?”
According to him, there were a lot of irregularities in the locations where the polls were place. Ayoyinka Oni, chairman of the African Action Congress, issued a statement demanding that the LG poll be cancelled.
Nothing particularly noteworthy came out of Saturday’s election. Our prediction was spot on; after all, a building’s foundation dictates its storm resistance. LASIEC was aware of their failure even before today, since there were many mistakes throughout the process.
Not an election; worse than a coup, according to the AAC. We are demanding that the entire drill be cancelled immediately.
Electors were praised for “their unflinching, overwhelming support and trust” by Seye Oladejo, APC Publicity Secretary, in a statement released on Sunday. He went on to say that the APC’s success was due in large part to the efforts of party loyalists.
“This resounding win is a testament to the enduring relationship between the APC and the great people of Lagos,” Oladejo spoke after the victory.
The continuous support of our goal for grassroots inclusive governance, growth, and progress is a reflection of both confidence in our party’s leadership and that vision.
“We applaud the commitment, self-control, and solidarity shown by our contenders, party members, and campaign staff during this election.”
