In a statement released by the task force head, retired General Gambo Ahmad Mai’adua, it was stated that the arrests occurred on Tuesday night at approximately 8 p.m. along Hadejia Road and the Eastern Bypass.
Members of the task force responded quickly to distress calls, which led to the suspects’ capture, according to Mai’adua.
After reportedly stealing a phone from a pedestrian and trying to run away, a group of suspects were apprehended along the Eastern Bypass. The operation also resulted in the seizure of two tricycles that the suspects had been riding.
Security personnel stationed near Hadejia Road apprehended two more individuals in connection with the same incident, albeit they did so in an armed conflict.
