On Tuesday, Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, visited President Bola Tinubu at his mansion in Lagos State.

Last week, Tinubu commissioned multiple projects while in Lagos. The President will spend the duration of the Sallah festivities in the state.
There may be a connection between the continuing state of emergency in Rivers State and Fubara’s meeting with Tinubu.
Members of the State Assembly, Fubara, and Tinubu’s deputy were suspended, and the state of emergency was imposed for six months by Tinubu.
In his stead, the president has designated a single administrator to head the state. Nyesom Wike, Fubara’s estranged political godfather, recently met with him in an effort to mend fences.

Even though certain state stakeholders were strongly opposed to Fubara becoming governor, Wike played a crucial role in the appointment.
