The governor made the announcement on Friday during the opening ceremonies for the 2025 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation for members assigned to the state from Batch A Stream II.
The one-year mandatory national service of the corps members was formally started at the event that took place at the permanent orientation camp in Sibre.
He urged the camp authorities to work along with the newly deployed corps members to promote agricultural projects all around the state, stressing the significance of food security.
In a statement made by Barrister Gebon T. Kataps, the Secretary to the Government of the State, SSG, Governor Kefas said that the state is rapidly becoming a centre for investment, development, and progress.

Those members of the corps who plan to stay in the state after their service year should, in his opinion, focus on finding areas where they can make a difference.
In addition, he emphasised the need of the corps members engaging with camp staff, facilitators, and other participants in the orientation activities.
It is of the utmost importance that they adhere to the law, stay disciplined, and avoid social vices like cultism, drug misuse, and social media misuse, according to the governor.
