The crew of a Nigerian navy ship has located and severed ties to a crude oil theft wellhead. On Wednesday, 4 June 2025, the Nigerian Navy Ship NNS Pathfinder found and removed a wellhead connected to pipes for crude oil theft, according to a post on its verified Facebook page.

Furthermore, at Egbema, Rivers State, the NNS Pathfinder patrol team uncovered and disabled eight illicit refinery sites. These sites contained thirty reservoirs, twenty-six refining furnaces, and thirty-two dugout pits that were filled with substantial quantities of crude oil and AGO that had been illicitly refined.
