Crystal Palace has confirmed that Eberechi Eze’s release clause is no longer valid

Oliver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, announced that Eze’s release clause has indeed expired. This statement came after their goalless draw against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

Eze has been rumored to be a target for both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer. Nevertheless, Tottenham has already begun talks with Palace, raising questions about whether the 27-year-old would feature at Stamford Bridge.

Glasner opted to include Eze in the starting lineup, and the midfielder even had a goal disallowed.

“He was selected because he’s a Crystal Palace player and a very talented one at that,” Glasner remarked.

“He trained all week, so there was no reason to leave him out.”

Regarding Eze’s £68m release clause, Glasner commented: “I’m quite relaxed, but I’m also aware that we have two weeks left, and I know Ebs’ clause has expired, so it’s up to the club to decide, and we’ll see what unfolds.”
