The Imo State Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, has promised that no criminal will escape punishment, emphasizing that the state government has zero tolerance for crime.

Emelumba made this commitment on Thursday during his appearance on Channels Television’s Lunchtime Politics. He stated that security in the state has significantly improved, leaving no refuge for criminals.
He also responded to worries regarding the murder of seven individuals in the Ideato North Local Government Area of the state.
“Yes, it took some time, but the key point is that he [the suspect] was apprehended, and I believe the government deserves praise for its efforts in ensuring his capture,” he remarked.
Discussing the current security situation, the commissioner noted that there has been progress compared to previous years.
“However, this does not imply that Imo State is entirely safe. Like any other community, we still experience some security issues from time to time.
“This does not indicate that the situation is deteriorating. In my view, these incidents are not occurring as often as they did in the past,” he concluded.
