Battlejets sent to Middle East by UK in response to Iran and Israel

On Saturday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that his nation is increasing its military presence in the Middle East by sending fighter jets and other weapons. Speaking to media on Saturday en route to a Group of Seven meeting in Canada, Starmer said this.

“We’re transferring assets, including aircraft, to the area, and that’s to ensure continuity of support in the event of an emergency,” Starmer stated.

Fighter jets from the British military are now in the Middle East as part of a counter-threat mission in Iraq and Syria.

It became clear on Friday that the situation in the region was getting worse, therefore deployment preparations started. This follows an exchange of rockets and airstrikes between Israel and Iran that occurred less than two days ago.

Iran recently attacked various locations in Israel with missiles on Friday and early Saturday. Similarly, Iran has been the target of dozens of airstrikes by the Israeli army during the past few days.
