There is a beginning and a finish to everything in life. H As his contract with Real Madrid nears its expiration, 39-year-old Modric announced in an Instagram post that he will play his final match at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday. My heart is overflowing with pride, appreciation, and priceless memories as I depart.
“And I will always be a Madrid fan, even though I won’t be wearing this shirt on the pitch after the Club World Cup.
Since joining Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2012, the Croatian has appeared in nearly 600 games, during which time the club has won numerous trophies, including six Champions League and four La Liga titles.
After joining Real Madrid for a fee of about 35 million euros ($40 million), Modric had a rocky start but soon settled into his role and became a top-tier midfielder.

For his work with both Real Madrid and Croatia, who finished in second place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Modric was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
“Through these years, I’ve witnessed extraordinary moments, seemingly impossible comebacks, championship games, festivities, and enchanted evenings at the Bernabeu,” Modric said. I was elated because we won it all. Thrilled beyond words.
