Speaking to reporters at Yola’s State Assembly Complex, Kallamu expressed his concern about the low enrolment in science-related courses and emphasised the importance of students embracing science for personal and societal benefit.
To ensure Mayo-Belwa’s continued success, he emphasised the critical importance of fostering an interest in science.
According to Kallamu, a committee on educational interventions has already been formed to tackle the problem in his own unique approach.
He announced that the group would be working with elementary, middle, and high school students as well as college freshmen to encourage a deeper love of science.
A number of educational programs, including coaching classes, inter-primary school quiz competitions, and other endeavours to improve learning outcomes in Mayo-Belwa, were to be implemented by an intervention committee that the lawmaker revealed had been formed by intellectuals and education specialists.
Kallamu has also stated his intention to re-establish the Mayo-Belwa Integrated Youths Development Association (MIYODA), an organisation that has a history of providing academic support to kids through mentoring relationships.
