While campaigning for President Bola Tinubu in 2023, veteran Nollywood actor Lalude and his companions were paid N10,000 everyday for food.

Lalude made this known while bemoaning the difficulties encountered following Tinubu’s triumph and expressing his remorse and anger about them.
The actor detailed his month-and-a-half of unpaid campaigning for Tinubu with his colleagues in an interview that has gone viral on social media.
While airing his frustrations, Lalude revealed that they were only paid N10,000 per day for feeding, and that even after two years of Tinubu’s administration, they still have not received campaign incentives.
We were receiving N10,000 per day for food from them. They opted to give us N10,000 instead of the higher than expected amount for campaign chances. They cut our payments or even stop giving them altogether for two or three days once they find out we’re cutting costs.
Their refusal to pay us followed the entire three-week campaign job. He warned that anybody who refused to donate to the campaign financially would suffer the consequences forever.
Just days prior to his speech, actor Alapini had expressed remorse for joining hundreds of his colleagues in canvassing for Tinubu. Two years subsequent to the general election in 2023, this will occur.
Saheed Balogun, Bimbo Akintola, Toyin Abraham, Eniola Badmus, Olaiya Igwe, and Seyi Law are among the many Nigerian celebrities who reportedly proclaimed their support for Tinubu during the 2016 general elections, according to furucinovel.
As a result of the rising economic hardship and insecurity caused by the Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government, many Nigerians were unhappy with the development, and it caused a stir on social media, where some of their followers unfollowed them and others criticised their decision.
