The Kano state government’s Toyota Coaster Bus, registration number KN041 A17, was involved in the tragedy. There were 24 people on the bus at the time, with 23 men and 1 woman among them.

Nineteen (19) people tragically lost their lives, and five (5) others had injuries of varied degrees, according to preliminary investigation. Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital has been informed and will receive the injured and deceased.

Overspeeding, overloading, and other types of traffic offences are still big causes of road accidents, and he advised drivers against them.

Inviting all drivers to exercise caution when behind the wheel, Bature continued by saying that safety is an individual responsibility that is also a collective one.

The incident has prompted the commander to announce that the agency will be stepping up patrols and surveillance in addition to launching public awareness programs in an effort to prevent future instances of this kind.
