His Royal Majesty, Prof Epiphany Azinge, the Asagba of Asaba, has issued a warning that any Village Head, Diokpa Ogbe, who misses the Asagba-in-Council Exco meeting three times in a row will forfeit his position.

This warning may be related to the suspension of Diokpa Diali by the Asagba after an ultimatum for him to return from Lagos and take up his village leadership was ignored despite numerous calls and messages.
The warning was given when the spokesperson (Onu Diokpa) of Ogbeogo, Ogbueshi Chukwuma Ndah, along with other stakeholders, brought the suspended Diokpa of the village, Azukaego Diali, to meet with the Asagba.
The monarch emphasized that the leadership of any Asaba village is not something to be taken lightly; it is a position that requires a thorough selection process due to its importance.
Anyone appointed must demonstrate the willingness and ability to lead their community effectively. I hold no personal grievances against the suspended Diokpa Diali. My concern is for him to fulfill his duties as the Head of Ogbeogo village, which I firmly believe should not be done through a proxy, for the benefit of the community.
Asagba Prof Azinge expressed gratitude to Diali for finally returning home and encouraged him to settle in, engage with the key stakeholders of his village, and take full charge of his leadership role, after which he should return to him to discuss lifting the suspension.
He noted that Diali’s situation should act as a warning to other Village Heads, many of whom, he observed, were not consistently attending the Asagba-in-Council EXCO meetings, likely due to not being based in their villages.
The suspended Diokpa explained to the Asagba that his delay in returning was not deliberate but due to health issues, and he assured him that he was now fully prepared to resume his responsibilities.
