Piers Morgan, a British broadcaster, has named his all-time world XI and has ignored superstars like Pele and Lionel Messi.

Among the most renowned footballers of all time, Messi and the late Pele are often ranked among the five best.

In Morgan’s opinion, though, neither of them belongs in his all-time XI. But he led his offence with players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo Nazario, and the late Diego Maradona.

Morgan named Gordon Banks as his custodian and Cafu, Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini, and Roberto Carlos as his defenders in a Saturday post on his X (previously Twitter) account. Even Morgan’s all-time World XI does not include Messi, he tweeted.

Banks, Cafu, Baresi, Maldini, Carlos, Zidane, Matthaus, Ronaldinho, Maradona, Cristiano, Ronaldo—that is my GOAT squad, assuming peak performance.
