In response to her exclusion from the Super Falcons’ 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations roster, Washington Spirit forward Monday Gift has spoken out. The 24-man roster for the tournament was revealed on Friday by interim head coach Justine Madugu.

Notable omissions from the roster include Monday, who has been sensational for the Washington Spirit of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) this season. In nine league games for Spirit, the 23-year-old has put up four goals and one assist.
