The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 has filed seven amended counts against ThankGod and his company, Eezee Global Concepts Limited, and they are now awaiting trial.
Allegations of hundreds of thousands of dollars in foreign exchange fraud and money laundering are at the heart of the charges.
The matter was originally assigned to Justice Owoeye at that court but was then transferred to Justice Aneke so that proceedings might continue under his supervision.
The defendant is said to have violated the requirements of the Foreign Exchange Monitoring and Miscellaneous (requirements) Act by negotiating a foreign currency transaction with an individual while not being an authorised foreign exchange dealer approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Mohammed Timta was introduced as the first witness during Friday’s hearing by the prosecution, which was headed by Bilkisu Buhari-Bala.
The defence’s Chikaosolu Ojukwu, SAN, told the judge that his client and the prosecution were almost at an agreement and asked for more time to work out the details. He went on to say that if talks break down, the prosecution would move ahead with a full trial.
Justice Aneke accepted the request after hearing the arguments and postponed further consideration of the matter until September 26, 2025.
