The 2023 presidential campaign of veteran Nigerian actor Ganiu Nofiu, well known by his stage name Alapini, for President Bola Tinubu was a mistake, he says.

This came from the actor, who, in the midst of rising economic hardship and national insecurity, said that, like hundreds of his colleagues, he had previously worked with Tinubu in Lagos and the Yoruba film business, and that this was why they had voted for Tinubu. The actor expressed disappointment that he was neither paid or acknowledged for his work.
In his most recent interview with “African A-List,” Alapini questioned President Buhari’s son Seyi Tinubu’s charitable efforts, saying that they “neglect the southwest” in favour of the country’s northern region.
He explained that in 2023, they had to take a two-month hiatus from their jobs to campaign for Tinubu. The welfare of Nigerians, and not our own interests, motivated us to spearhead the effort.
Due to our passion for Tinubu and his good impact on the industry, we rallied behind the campaign and gave our all, believing that our Messiah had finally arrived.

Even after two years of his administration, we still haven’t received any compensation. It is likely that they are not mentally prepared to accomplish it just yet.
Can Seyi Tinubu honestly claim that he didn’t spot the familiar faces while campaigning? Hundreds of us, young and elderly alike, came out to support Tinubu in his campaign. Without receiving any compensation, we went about our campaigning. Everything we did was driven by pure love.
However, Seyi is frantically rushing over northern Nigeria to cover their medical expenses. In Yoruba territory (in the southwest), aren’t there also sick people? What is the total number of Yoruba hospitals that he has visited?
