Governors are inactive, according to Agbakoba

According to Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, none of the 36 state governors in the nation are taking any action. A stipend is what they do every month, according to Agbakoba.

This was something he said on Friday while appearing on Politics Today on Channels Television to answer viewers’ questions.

Assigning responsibility by transferring political power to other levels of government was the suggestion of the senior counsel to President Bola Tinubu. According to him, this is the one method by which the public can reap democracy’s benefits.

I would always want any president of Nigeria to succeed, according to Agbakoba, since there are just too many individuals who stand to gain from such a president’s success.

An effective administration is the wish of 250 million Nigerians. So, all I can say is that I hope the president would do a lot more to help Nigeria find its footing and progress.

There is complete inaction on the part of the 774 municipal administrations and 36 state governors. Going to Abuja and collecting a stipend once a month is all they do.

“I hope that President Tinubu will take charge by transferring power to lower levels of government. Only then will development be a bottom-up process, not a top-down one, and the people will reap the rewards.”
