The paramilitary services overseen by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) are currently recruiting, and the public is being cautioned to be wary of scammers spreading misleading information about the procedure.

This was said in a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja by Maj.-Gen. A.M. Jibril (Rtd), who is the Secretary to the Board.
A letter purporting to include specifics of the recruitment exercise was disseminated on social media channels, which the Board became aware of.
The Board made it plain that the formal recruiting process has not yet begun, even though President Bola Tinubu has authorised the recruitment of 30,150 persons into the four paramilitary forces and 209 personnel into the CDCFIB Secretariat.
To expedite the process, Jibril stated that the Board is presently seeking a waiver to shorten the standard six-week legislative requirement for advertising placement in national dailies to three weeks.

To clear up any confusion, the statement assured that the Board will advertise any official recruitment activity in reputable national newspapers. It also promised that the process would be open, fair, and free of charge.
The authorised staff is broken down as follows: The following organisations in Nigeria: 5,150 in the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), 10,000 in the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), 10,000 in the Federal Fire Service (FFS), 5,000 in the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and 209 in the CDCFIB Secretariat
Scammers are taking advantage of the current scenario to trick naïve Nigerians into giving them their money. The Board of Directors wants the public and job seekers to be careful not to fall for their schemes.

It further urged people to be on the lookout for questionable individuals or employment offers that demand payment and to report them.
The CDCFIB reaffirmed its dedication to conducting all recruitment processes with honesty, equity, and due process.
