On charges of conspiracy, criminal intimidation, attempted kidnapping, and handgun possession, four individuals have been apprehended by the Niger State Police Command.

The command in Minna made the announcement through SP Wasiu Abiodun, who is in charge of public relations, and said that the suspects were apprehended due to intelligence gathered.
As per his account, at approximately 7 o’clock in the evening on May 26, 2025, a complaint was lodged at Maje Division regarding an alleged plot by two Maje residents, Ibrahim Sheriff, 18, of Kuki village, Dutsenma, Katsina State, and Hamisu Dalhatu, 25, of Furakirke, Sokoto State, to kidnap one Samaila unless he paid N30 million.
The two individuals were apprehended after being pursued with the use of technological intelligence, as revealed by SP Abiodun.
The phone and SIM card used to make the threat calls are among the exhibits confiscated, according to the police spokesperson.

In a same vein, he disclosed that the Gawu-Babangida Division received information at approximately 6:30 pm on May 29, 2025, that two individuals, Bello Lawal and Isah Umar, from Goi village via Gwagwalada, FCT, were plotting to steal animals from their neighbours.
Upon receiving this, he elaborated that the aforementioned Bello was apprehended by police operatives of the Division who had been mobilised and had been trailing him to the village of Izom.
State Police PRO claimed that Isah was also caught at Goi village with two live cartridges, three locally produced revolver firearms, and other related items during the inquiry.

He went on to say, “Bello claimed that he bought the guns from Zaria, Kaduna State, for vigilante service. We are currently investigating the cases.
