In an effort to swing a league match in his team’s advantage, the Ebonyi-based club’s chairman allegedly made a move.
Chief Operating Officer Olushola Ogunnowo of NLO wrote to the chairman of Cynosure via the Ebonyi State Football Association to inform him of this.
The letter states: “The NLO Secretariat was disturbed to receive a petition against the Chairman of Cynosure FC on how he put a call across to the Chairman of Liberty Lions FC Calabar a day before his last league match in order to compromise the match against E-World FC. This was the same match that the chairman of Cynosure FC complained about because it did not favour his club.” Id.
According to reports, the chairman of Cynosure FC tried to get the president of E-World FC—also an indigenous man—to help out with the match.

However, Liberty Lions FC turned him down, claiming that he was not yet prepared to get involved with Cynosure FC’s antics.
“Following the events mentioned earlier, the NLO Secretariat has initiated an investigation into both parties in accordance with established protocols. We will ensure that those responsible are held accountable.”
