The chief of staff issued the warning while meeting with command staff in Minna. The attendees included heads of department, tactical commanders, area commanders and deputy personnel officers from all 25 local government areas (LGAs) in the state.

“The next local government elections in the state have been scheduled for November 1, 2025, and campaign processes have commenced till October 31,” he informed the troopers. Thus, officers are cautioned to maintain a level of professionalism when interacting with any of the participating political parties.

Aside from reminding them that Eid-el-Kabir is scheduled to be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2025, Elleman also instructed the cops to follow the operation order that was prepared for the day.

In order to ensure a smooth celebration of Eid, he issued orders for visibility police, a show of force, and the proper deployment of operational assets and troops to cover the state’s prayer areas.

The CP also praised the police for their work in combating thuggery and other vices in the state’s major cities, including the capital city of Minna.

Officers should “maintain the measures put in place to address these challenges,” he said, adding that “the menace of thuggery is relatively calm.”
