The recent counter-terrorism operation in Kukawa, Borno State, which resulted in the elimination of Boko Haram/ISWAP leader, Amir Abu Fatima, and his lieutenants, has been recognised by the Senate through its Committee on Army, which is responsible for military affairs.

Senator AbdulAziz Musa Yar’Adua, who chairs the committee, said in a statement that the precision exercise “marks a significant milestone in our collective fight against insurgency.”

Senator Yar’Adua emphasised the need of our security agencies continuing their strong pursuit and eventual dismantling of insurgents.
The Senate’s support for the courageous troops was reiterated, and they would keep striving to improve their capabilities, as he congratulated Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff, and the whole Nigerian Army on the accomplishment.
