At Wednesday’s “Unveiling News Conference” in Abuja, the list’s organisers revealed its inclusion of numerous distinguished Nigerians and other Africans from various fields. Mohammed Salah, a star player for Liverpool FC from Egypt, is also included.

Femi Oyetola, a businessman from Nigeria, Dr. Angel Josephat Natianota, CEO of HR World Limited Tanzania, Dr. Abdelhak Najib, and Dr. Imane Kendili, a doctor from Morocco, are among the other African recipients of the peace icon distinction.

Included on the list are individuals such as Munyakazi Sadate, Chief Executive Officer of Karame Rwanda Group, and Prof. Mthuli Ncube, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion.

Their dedication to promoting peace and development through their courses earned them a spot on the list, according to Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, Project Director Africa, 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa.

A diverse group of Africans who have made positive use of their abilities, influence, and resources to foster peace on the continent are the peace icons, according to Amafibe.

He elaborated that the selection process took into account a number of factors, including a dedication to humanitarian efforts, a good impact on communities, and the empowerment of young.

“This program exemplifies our dedication to recognising and honouring extraordinary individuals for the crucial roles they play in promoting peace, harmony, and positive transformation across Africa.

Their steadfastness and dedication have been on full display as they have worked to develop future leaders, spur economic expansion, and promote positive change in a wide range of fields.

We hope that by sharing their stories, we will strengthen the impact of their efforts and bring people together in their desire to make Africa a better, more peaceful place.

African presidents, economists, sports figures, religious figures, business magnates, entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry, and traditional rulers are all represented on this esteemed list of the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Africa.

“Their stories are testaments to the power of perseverance and determination, encapsulated in the beloved principles of Africa – unity, harmony, and progress. They have triumphed over obstacles and surpassed boundaries to leave behind inerasable legacies,” he remarked.

The ‘100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit,’ to be held in Kigali, Rwanda in July, will present the honour to the 2025 Peace Icons.

A diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and economic experts, will gather at the event—titled “Leadership Frameworks for Governance, Business Growth, Investment opportunities and Sustainable Development in Africa”—to promote open and inclusive dialogue about the expansion of Africa’s economy.

Amafibe stated that Africa is not immune to global economic difficulties and that in order to achieve economic growth, stakeholders must embrace open discussion in order to cultivate the teamwork and partnerships that are crucial.

This event provides a dynamic platform for us to gather and discuss important trends, difficulties, and potential partnerships in Africa, which is an enticing invitation due to its varied population, landscapes, and people.

Leaders will be better able to communicate and work together in this setting, which will open the door to investment prospects.

To assure stable political campaigns with transparent governance and to strengthen investors’ confidence, the conference will offer fascinating panel discussions, high-impact networking, and informative lectures.

Furthermore, it would encourage international programs that facilitate the exchange of good practices in fields such as agriculture, education, and healthcare.

“This can assist African leaders in coordinating their initiatives and reducing trade barriers through loosening border restrictions, all the while ensuring a system of protection against shared dangers,” he continued.
