Former SSG Bichi slammed by Governor Yusuf for alleged corruption: “You are mentally unstable

Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, who was fired from his position as secretary to the state government, was accused by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of distributing N2 billion per month to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a candidate for the presidency of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in 2023.

“I think Baffa Bichi is mentally unstable because he is sound in his head. Most of what he is attacking us with are baseless, unfounded insinuations that have no place in the runnings of an administration,” the governor remarked in reaction to the claims.

At Sunday’s first meeting between his administration and the 444 ward councillors, Yusuf said, “Dr. Baffa Bichi, despite series of rejections of his appointment by Ulamas and many other stakeholders, yet we appointed him to the exalted seat of SSG.”

You (Bichi) have made accusations against our leader that you have not been able to verify, and we will not take lightly your attempts to denigrate and discredit Kwankwaso.

“Listen, Kwankwaso has been through a lot in his life. He climbed the political and other ladders to become, among other things, one of the best federal ministers of defense, as well as a two-term governor and senator. However, no one has ever been able to prove that he has done anything wrong.”

In response to Bichi’s overt criticism of Kano’s religious, political, and traditional leaders, Yusuf vowed to remove his name from any list of true indigenous people.

Furthermore, the governor issued a warning to certain radio stations that had let the fired SSG Baffa Bichi to air his attacks on individuals, urging them to stop.

If a media outlet permits people like Baffa Bichi to express their misinformation and false accusations against our leaders, we will not hesitate to take legal action.

“We will ensure that this does not persist,” Governor Yusuf issued a warning. Yusuf told the council members to make sure the common people sense their influence.
