Arteta breaks his silence on Liverpool’s title success, and it hurts

Congratulations to Liverpool on winning the Premier League this season, says Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. It is “painful” for Arteta’s team to miss out on the title race for three years in a row, though.

With only four games left in the season, Liverpool put themselves far out of Arteta’s grasp with a spectacular 5-1 win over Tottenham, Arsenal’s North London rivals. The Gunners have failed to win the championship for three seasons in a row.

Arteta expressed his grief to the media on Friday, saying, “I understand that Liverpool are a team that has been more consistent and they possess many of the qualities necessary to win, but it’s very painful.”

“I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate Liverpool for what they’ve achieved and the manner in which they’ve done it, how consistent they’ve been,” he stated afterwards.

Plus, I think they’re deserving of the victory. They dominated the competition. On top of having a constantly available team, they have a plethora of other attributes. We will give it another shot. We need to put this season behind us and finish strong until next year.
