In connection with alleged occurrences involving four distinct women between 1999 and 2005, Brand, who presently resides in the US, was officially charged last month with one count each of rape, oral rape, indecent assault, and sexual assault, according to Sky News. Additionally, he was charged with two charges of sexual assault.
When The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches collaborated on an investigation in September 2023, the claims came to light.

Brand, who was escorted into the courtroom by cameras and reporters, entered the building while keeping calm and silent in the face of relentless questioning. The presence of law enforcement was also noted.
The novelist, comedian, and actor has stated that he has “never engaged in non-consensual activity” and has rejected the charges.
Brand came into court and took off his shades as he entered. After standing to verify his identity and residence, he sat down to listen to the accusations.

Brand faces charges related to two separate incidents: one in the Bournemouth region in 1999 and another in the Westminster district of London in 2004. The victims were victims of oral rape and sexual abuse.
The actor was allegedly accused of sexually assaulting a lady in 2004 for allegedly touching her breasts without her consent.
Both of these alleged assaults allegedly occurred in Westminster, London, and he is also accused of indecently attacking a lady in 2001 by “grabbing her arm and dragging her toward a men’s toilet,” as well as of sexually abusing another woman between 2004 and 2005.
The Crown Court, sometimes called the Old Bailey, was informed by the judge that Brand was required to appear on May 30th.
Brand supplied his US and UK addresses to the court and stated he understood his release requirements. He exited the courtroom after expressing his gratitude to the judge.
As soon as he was charged, Brand informed his supporters in a video that he will have the chance to defend himself in court, and he expressed immense gratitude for that.
Brand expressed his eagerness to prove his innocence and even referenced returning to his home country in a video he posted to social media.
The scandal surrounding Brand’s obscene voicemail to actor Andrew Sachs, later dubbed “Sachsgate,” caused him to resign as host of his BBC Radio 2 show, which he hosted from 2006 to 2008.
Big Brother’s Big Mouth and Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack, both spin-off series from Big Brother, featured Brand in the 2000s.
Katy Perry, a singer, was Brand’s spouse from 2010 until 2012. His two daughters, Peggy and Mabel, are the product of his marriage to Laura Gallacher. Laura Gallacher is Kirsty Gallacher’s sister.
