According to a witness for the federal government, Ekpa will be extradited to face prosecution for his support of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
The witness, who went by the initials “AAA” and is an employee of the DSS, revealed the information while being cross-examined by Chief Kanu Agabi, Kanu’s lead attorney, at the Federal High Court in Abuja, which was presided over by Justice James Omotosho.
On October 15, 2015, at Lagos’s Golden Tulip Hotel, the witness was a member of the squad that detained Kanu.
According to him, Ekpa is already in the extradition process for “inciting violence” and his support of IPOB, for which he is facing arrest.

The witness went on to say that when Kanu was arrested in 2015, police did not find any firearms or other instruments of violence on him.
The woman who was discovered in Kanu’s hotel room was not a suspect, he added, as it had been proven that she had met the defendant online.
The witness assured the court that the woman was found not guilty. Justice Omotosho adjourned the trial to May 6, 7, and 8, 2025, following the sessions. The leader of IPOB is currently on trial for terrorism-related crimes.
