According to furucinovel, Ruth, Phyna’s younger sister, suffered a serious accident on August 13, 2025, close to Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, where she was struck by a Dangote truck allegedly driven by an unlicensed, underage driver.
The incident took place just six days after Ruth graduated, leading to the amputation of her left leg, with her right leg also in jeopardy.
In a series of heartfelt updates on Wednesday, Phyna shared that after visiting her sister, she discovered that Ruth’s condition was much worse than what she had previously disclosed to the public. She mentioned that she has been in continuous discussions with representatives from the Dangote Group.
Phyna stated that the company initially agreed to her request for Ruth to be flown to India for specialized medical treatment.
However, Ruth was first taken to Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, where Phyna was asked to submit a comprehensive medical report.
After quickly providing the report, Phyna claims that the company’s officials changed their stance, saying they would seek additional medical advice before making any decisions.
The reality TV star noted that they later requested another report from Lagoon Hospital to confirm that Ruth’s case could not be managed there.
In a detailed Instagram post, Phyna disclosed that the Dangote official she had been communicating with has not responded to her messages for over 24 hours, raising doubts about the company’s commitment to their promises of assistance.
The former BBNaija winner specifically urged Aliko Dangote, the company’s owner, to step in personally to help save her sister’s life.
“My sister’s life must not be put at risk. She requires urgent care that local hospitals cannot provide. Dangote must honor their commitments.”
