Since May, public trust in the integrity of the recruitment process has been shaky, following the submission of 93,700 applications for just 4,000 available positions after the application portal closed.

Even though the applicant pool was later narrowed down to 52,003 and most recently to 8,196, doubts have persisted, resulting in accusations that some candidates who did not make the shortlist for the upcoming interview are being allowed to participate secretly. In response, the Civil Service Commission has asserted that the process is without flaws.

“We want to reassure the public that the Commission is not modifying, adding, or reinstating any unqualified individuals into the next stage of the ongoing recruitment process,” stated the Adamawa Civil Service Commission through its permanent secretary, Abubakar Maiha.

Maiha firmly rejected the “misunderstanding circulating that disqualified candidates are being included for the interview phase,” stressing that the recruitment process is equitable for all applicants.

“Members of the public and all successful candidates are encouraged to ignore such rumors and concentrate on preparing for the interview phase, which will begin on Thursday, 28th August 2025, at the Civil Service Commission office in Yola,” Maiha added.
