The Army has successfully rescued 27 passengers who were kidnapped by armed individuals in the Amoda community, located in the Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.

This rescue operation was carried out by the troops of Operation Whirl Stroke, who raided the kidnappers’ hideout and managed to overpower them, ensuring the safe return of the victims.
As reported by the Army, this significant achievement in Benue is part of a broader national effort against terrorism and crime, which also led to the elimination of 15 terrorists, the arrest of 42 suspects, and the rescue of 30 other kidnapped individuals across the nation.
In the North East region, troops confronted Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents in areas such as Dikwa, Gwoza, Bama, Banki, and Gujba, resulting in the deaths of 15 fighters and the recovery of rifles, grenades, explosives, motorcycles, and communication devices.
Additionally, security forces apprehended 15 suspects in Kaduna for drug-related offenses, 25 individuals for oil theft in Bayelsa, and two in Delta. In the South South region, illegal crude oil bunkering sites were dismantled in Imo, Rivers, and Delta states.
