As reported by Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, the plan is for Simons to start for RB Leipzig in their match against Bayern, after which his transfer to the Blues is expected to be finalized. The likelihood of Chelsea securing the Dutchman’s signature is quite high.
Simons has expressed a strong desire to join Chelsea and has already settled on personal terms with the Premier League club based in west London.
The 22-year-old is simply waiting for an official offer and for Chelsea to negotiate a transfer deal with RB Leipzig to complete the move.
Additionally, Simons has garnered interest from Chelsea’s Premier League rivals, Manchester City, this summer. The attacking midfielder has previously played for PSV and Paris Saint-Germain.
